This International Day of the Girl, commemorated annually on Oct. 11, AHF teams around the world celebrated the power, resilience, and voices of girls everywhere while empowering them to protect their health, access lifesaving HIV services, and build a future where all girls can thrive.
From school-based HIV education and confidence-building activities to art performances and leadership workshops, girls across Asia were given space to learn, lead, and express themselves. In Africa, AHF teams celebrated International Day of the Girl with interactive sexual health lessons, creative performances, and youth-led advocacy calling for expanded access to education and reproductive health services.
Across Latin America and the Caribbean, teams strengthened reproductive health education, provided school kits to support learning, and hosted local fairs where girls could showcase their talents and build confidence. In Europe, AHF teams promoted health, confidence, and opportunity through self-esteem workshops, open discussions on sexual health, and interactive sessions on body awareness and personal safety.
